Florence Nightingale was born in 1820 in a big city in Italy. It’s called Florence and that’s how she got her name. She went to the Crimean War to nurse wounded soldiers and became known as ‘The Lady with the Lamp’. Florence Nightingale is remembered for showing people that nursing was a very important job.

Reminders

Name everything!

Please could we ask that you name all items of clothing. Naming your child’s clothes and belongings is also a great way for children to become more independent, recognising their name and looking after their own things.

Water Bottles

Please could we ask that all children bring a water bottle into school please.
