These are a few of the events which have happened at Beck Row Primary Academy over the academic year:

KS1 Topic Open Afternoon 28th March 2019

Rabbit and Fox Classes enjoyed an exciting afternoon creating Beck Row in cardboard as an ending to this half term’s topic.

The children and their parents, used junk modelling to create key locations in the village from cardboard.



Science Open Afternoon – 15th March 2019 

Children at Beck Row Primary Academy celebrated the end of Science week by inviting parents in to share some of our favourite experiments from the week. We all enjoyed the afternoon and had great fun sharing the experiments with our parents and the other classes.


EYFS trip to St John’s Church December 2018

The Early Years children had the pleasure of attending the St John’s church coffee morning on Tuesday 11th December. The children sang some of their Christmas performance songs to the attendees whilst Mrs Matthews narrated the Christmas story. The school would like to thank St John’s church for organising this event and all the parent helpers who supported the walk to the church.

8th November 2018 – Remembrance Day Memorial Visit (KS2)

Pupils from Squirrel, Otter and Owl classes walked to the local churches to commemorate the 100 years since the end of World War I. Pupils from these classes have investigated the lives of soldiers during this time and were able to share some of their observations with the rest of the school.


31st October 2018 – Halloween Mask (School Council organised event)

The School Council at Beck Row arranged a Halloween mask competition. During the afternoon of the 31st October, all children who had entered the competition joined the parade and the winners from each Key Stage were chosen.


Last Year– Some of the Events

Music Celebration performance – 20th June

Our Year 4 class joined with other local schools in playing their clarinets, which they have been learning all year. They visited the Newmarket Memorial Hall for their rehearsal, before playing to the parents in the afternoon.



Fire Department Visit – 19th June

The Mildenhall Air Base Fire Department visited the children in Early Years and Year 1. They told the children all about their jobs. The children got to meet Sparky and try on some of the clothes used.


Year 3 Storytelling – 14th June

This week Squirrel class have shared the books they have been making in their English lessons, with Hedgehog and Kingfisher Classes. The children in Early Years loved hearing the Year 3 pupils reading to them.
